Meet the Teachers

Antoine McKay
Actor, Director, Producer, Writer
33+ Years of Professional Experience.
For over 30 years, Antoine McKay has been among the leading actors and directors to hail from the MidWest. He developed his passion for acting at a young age and honed his skills at Eastern Michigan University's prestigious theatre arts program and by studying under world famous acting coach, Uta Hagen.
McKay began his professional acting career at the Second City's Main Stages in Detroit and Chicago, where he wrote and performed in over 20 critically acclaimed shows. His credits include starring roles in countless commercials and television appearances on programs including Detroit 187 (ABC), ER (NBC), Prison Break (FOX), Sports Action Team (NBC).
McKay has appeared in such feature films as The Weatherman, with Nicholas Cage, Someone to Eat Cheese With, alongside Jeff Garland, Standing in the Shadows of Motown, and Osso Bucco, with Mike Starr.
His most recent appearances in FOX's breakout hit show Empire and Comedy Central's Review and HBO Max's South Side.
Antoine has been a long-time resident of Chicago and has recently relocated to SE Michigan, where he lives with his wife Michelle and their children.

Michelle Guernsey McKay
Actor, Producer, Writer
Michelle has recently returned to acting (Fatal Influence, Death by Envy, Roman, Fatal Witness, and the G) after teaching for twenty years in Special Education working with students with autism, where her focus was bringing trauma-informed practice into her classroom. She has taken her love of writing into the storytelling of screenwriting with multiple projects in various stages of development, including the pilot Holding Space (formerly Michelle S. Bitts, PhD) she co-wrote and shot with her husband, Antoine McKay.

Although we live in unparalleled times, we are still responsible for enhancing and growing in our craft. This class is based on the training and insight of the great Uta Hagen. Our journey will involve a deep dive into Hagen’s technique and creative approach to acting. It will also give key skills development for work for the camera.

Screenwriting Basics
Format & Cost
Classes are eight weeks long, two hours

Learn the basics of writing your own script! This online class uses a combination of independent weekly work that focuses on different aspects of screenwriting, and virtual group work with our Zoom Writer's Room where we will collaborate on a short feature first draft. By using the rules of drama, the various components of story structure, and completing a variety of readings and assignments you will work on developing your own projects as well.
